    Joanne's Tiny Knitted Spinner's Basket
 
This simple pattern is useful and elegant, and would make a great gift for a fiber friend!  Keep your oil and orifice hook handy (as pictured) or tuck in a tiny sheep, bunny or llama to keep you company while you spin!

Materials: 
 -Size 8 US (5 mm) needles
 -Small amount of knitting worsted, 
   or bulky weight yarn
 -Tapestry needle
 -Pony beads for embellishing (optional)
(Note: Use 2 strands of knitting worsted held together as one throughout entire pattern, or one strand of bulky weight yarn.)

Directions:
Cast on 20 sts.
Rows 1-18: K.
Row 19: K2tog across row.
Row 20: K.
Row 21: K2tog across row.
Cut yarn, leaving 12" tail.  Thread yarn through tapestry needle and slip sts off knitting needle onto needle.  Pull tight and secure.  Sew side seam.  Weave in ends.  Turn right side out.

Handle:
Cast on 32 sts.  Bind off.  Attach to basket.

Embellishment:  
Sew beads to top of basket using single strand of worsted weight yarn or embellish any way you wish.  ENJOY!
